When something doesn’t feel right, let your veterinarian know

While the likelihood of arthritis increases with age, maintaining your horse’s joints with Adequan® i.m. (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan) can help extend your partnership and even help retired horses live better. Talk to your veterinarian to see if Adequan i.m. is right for your horse.

VETERINARIAN TALKING TIPS

FDA-approved to treat arthritis, not just its symptoms

Healthy joints help maintain well-being, regardless of whether your horse walks the pasture, is a first-time Western pleasure winner or a Grand Prix competitor turned steadfast companion.

As the only FDA-approved treatment for degenerative joint disease (DJD) in horses that helps restore cartilage, Adequan i.m. actually treats the disease, not just its symptoms.1,2,4 For over 30 years, veterinarians have given Adequan i.m. to help horses of every discipline and level enjoy greater mobility over their lifetimes.1,3,4

If your veterinarian observes the early signs of arthritis in your horse, they may recommend Adequan i.m. to help slow its effects and prevent further damage. Following the recommended dosing schedule ensures maximum efficacy and safety.

After the first treatment, you and your veterinarian should continue to watch your horse’s joint health and mobility. Your veterinarian may recommend repeating the schedule shown as needed if the signs of arthritis return.

Dosing Example

Lance got his freedom back

"Lance is 6 years old and has arthritis. His course of Adequan i.m. (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan) really made a remarkable difference in his freedom of movement and level of comfort in that movement. We gave him a break from gymnastics while on the medication and will revisit the situation as needed or probably at the 6-month point."
